Introducing: He Said She Said

I am extremely excited to announce a new feature on this blog, called He Said She Said. I realize that I'm very lucky to have a boyfriend who will give me incredibly honest feedback on the clothes I like and that I'm trying on. He even spits out a few gems here and there. Some ladies are not as lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it) to have male feedback on clothes or fashion trends.

How many times have you thought something looked great, only to find out the men in your life think it looks less than wonderful? Or have you ever wanted to know what guys really think about women's fashion trends? (My answers: yes and yes.)

So I am very happy to announce that this blog will be partnering with Men's Fashion Deals (have you checked out this blog? If not, you should!) to give you reviews, commentary, and just a general discussion on clothes, fashion trends - basically anything fashion related - from both a female and a male perspective (including features on his blog)!

what a great idea! it's always helpful to have opinions from multiple angles :)

I have two...

And this may come from hubby's fairly conservative, Southern Baptist background (which is weird because I am a devout Catholic and I have no issues with what I wore--just not to church, etc.)...

This saturday I wore the owl-eye mini and the fish tee (the gold fish on the ringspun or slub cotton or whatever). These both are J. Crew store only purchases (they are not on-line). He said the mini was short (duh) and although he likes my legs, he really doesn't want me showing them off...so I adjusted and brought the waist down to the hips. No big deal, right? Then, he decides the tee is too sheer (even though I am wearing a cami underneath). When I point that out to him, he just looked confused. At that point I basically said, Mr. Dina, give it up...I am wearing this outfit, as it is, today.

By the end of the day...he was actually complimenting the outfit. My man... :)

Love this...hope you get more responses!

My husband will provide honest feedback about what I try on, purchase, wear, etc. He'll do it at the store, at home, wherever. He'll do a thumbs up or down and even rate things on a scale of 1 to 10.

Sometimes he gets me to see items I dismiss in a new light. The issues arise when he dislikes something I like.

Why should I care what a guy thinks? I have a bf and I could care less if he doesn't like something I'm wearing.

@Anon - I'm not saying you should care what a guy thinks. I'm of the opinion that it's nice to have a variety of opinions, and since most readers of this blog are women (presumably), I thought it would be interesting to have a dedicated male presence.

Luckily, if you don't want to read these posts, they will be conveniently tagged and posted with the logo, so you can easily pass by them!

I think it's always interesting to have a male perspective-- because it is often so different. My husband sure has some comments every time we go in a store-- but he will ask if I want them before he offers them because once they are said it's hard to see past them.

GREAT idea!! Is the blog you linked to run by your boyfriend?! Because then I might just die of cuteness overload!! :)

Hi Julia! Thanks :) No, my boyfriend doesn't run that blog (he runs a nerd blog, but is lazy and doesn't keep up with it. :)

And to everyone else - I will respond to your comments. Boyfriend just wanted me to let Julia know as soon as possible that it is not his blog :)

Ugh. I find this incredibly insulting and ignorant. You should read pfp's post on howie mandel. This is the most sexist thing I've read in a while.
