Anthropologie: Above-A-Blue-Sky Skirt Review

This is Anthropologie's Above-A-Blue-Sky skirt (style #920067), which retails for $68. It is alpha-sized, and is available in this one pattern, multi. It is available in petites and regular. The skirt is by Edme and Esyllte, and Anthropologie describes it as such:

In Edme & Esyllte's topsy-turvy paradise, wildflowers flourish atop the deep turquoise heavens.
  • Side pockets
  • Pull-on styling
  • Cotton; cotton lining
  • Machine wash
  • Regular: 18"L
  • Petite: 16.5"L
I was instantly in love with this skirt when I saw it. I tried it on in a size small, and it fits true-to-size. There is some flexibility in the sizing, as there is elasticizing smocking at the back waistband which gives you some stretch in the waist. The size small fit me comfortably, so if you are on the small end of a medium or higher end of an extra small, you could also try a small.

The fabric on this skirt is a nice, light cotton. The skirt is lined in cotton as well, and the skirt moves pretty well. It's pretty forgiving on your bottom half without adding a lot of volume, and I think it's a pretty flattering shape overall. I tried this skirt on in the regular, and I like the length, as it hits just at the knees.

The skirt has an overall sort of wildflower/meadow pattern, with a wide teal band on the bottom. I think the pattern is really fun and whimsical, and is really colorful, so can work with a ton of top colors. For the most part, I think this is a casual skirt.

This was my first (and so far only) trip to Anthropologie, and this was one of many really cute things I tried on, but one of only two things I ended up taking home. I love Anthropologie's stuff, but a lot of it is pretty pricey, in my opinion. I do think it is a nice place to get some really feminine, pretty pieces and can't wait to check it out again!

What do you think? Do you like this skirt? Have you seen it or tried it on? Do you own it? What do you think of offering it in petite and regular, but not tall?

It looks really cute, and I'm totally into floral prints right now. You know, we don't have an Anthro by me, so I only get to go into that store while traveling, etc. I'm sure it's probably a GOOD thing we don't have one nearby because I like almost everything I see being reviewed from there!

This is the first time you've ever been to an Anthropologie store? Oh my gosh, I love that store! My closet seems to be divided between Jcrew, Banana Republic, and Anthropologie. I don't have any of these stores in my city (which is a good thing). I walked into an Anthro store in Houston last month and walked out with 3 shirts and 2 cardigans!

I had purchased this skirt but returned it. I sized up to gain some length and it felt too slouchy. The size L would have been too short on me. Oh well.

Whenever I go to an Anthro store, my husband knows it will be a long wait. I need at least an hour to go over the many delights in that store - clothes, shoes, jewelry, houseware, perfume, glasses, books. Each item is distinctive as if the buyers spent so much effort choosing lovely stuff. It's like discovering new treasures as you walk around the store. All the SAs are friendly and never give you an attitude if you are returning things or trying so many stuff but not buying. And there's no such thing as final sale, you can return even if it's 50% to 70% off. Plus this entire summer, it's free shipping for any online purchase. I can go on and on, I love Anthro and I'm happy to give my money to them!

Oh I love Antrho, too. They're fantastic at saving a dressing room & looking for things - if they don't have something in store, they'll order it online for you (if it's available) and ship it to your house free of charge (the shipping of course, not the item, LOL).

The skirt you posted is perfect for summer with the flowery print. It's a little too A-line for my tastes though 'cause I got junk in the trunk. ;) LOVE Anthro skirts in general, and everything else in the store. Every time I go there I see a gazillion things I want in my closet. Love the free shipping & their customer service is top notch; they put J.Crew to shame.

Totally cute. Please keep up with the Anthropologie reviews. I first found your site with a review of Anthropolgie's Esmee dress, bought it after reading your piece and loved it. Thanks!

Such a cute skirt, and really not a bad price point considering it's from Anthro! I love A-line styles...they are my preferred skirt style! I hope you ended up getting it!
