J.Crew FO: Floral Eyelet Strapless Top Review
This is a strapless top from J.Crew Outlet that I'm calling Floral Eyelet Strapless Top (item #12644), which retailed for $54.50, and was on a couple of different sales at various points. This top is numerically sized. This was the only color that the floral eyelet pattern came in.
I tried this top on in a 4. The top has an empire waist, and an all-over floral eyelet pattern. The top is lined in a white (I believe) cotton, and has a side zip. The top has rubberized trim at the bustline to provide some support. I believe the top fits true-to-size. You should definitely base your size on your bust size, as the empire waist goes into a bit of a flare shape, so your waist size is not as important.
The fabric on this top is pretty soft, especially the lining. The floral eyelet, by its nature, is a little rougher, but still nice. The top doesn't move incredibly well, but I do think it creates a nice silhouette. The length was a tad bit longer, but I thought it was a really nice length.
The top is relatively flattering, provided you pick the right size. There isn't any uncomfortable spillage on the top, and the top doesn't really add any volume in your midsection, which is always nice. There are small slits on the sides of the top to allow for some movement. The top also has some well-placed darts which help create some shape.

Here is a close-up of the floral eyelet pattern.
I really liked this top, but I just couldn't stomach the price (even on discounts), especially given that I don't normally wear strapless tops without wearing somethinig over it, like a sweater. I don't recall seeing it on my latest trip to the outlets, but there were a couple of new patterns out which were kind of cute.

What do you think? Do you like this top? Do you think the price is reasonable?

Very cute top. I don't remember seeing this last Sunday at the outlet. Could be a fab summer piece. But I agree about the price.
Yeah, the price was a big turn-off for me, especially compared to the amount of wear I'd get out of it. And now I think it's gone :(
Great reading your postt
