J.Crew: Tissue Crinkle Tie-Dye Tee Review

Our special distressing process makes this already supersoft cotton style permanently crinkled, giving it an even more broken-in feel. Allover tie-dye stripes. Fitted. V-neck. Short sleeves. Hits at hip. Import. Machine wash. This tee is alpha-sized, and I tried this tee on in a small, in the spearmint color. I saw it on a table while I was walking by, and it was super wrinkly - or crinkly is probably a better term, because the crinkles are intentional. The tee was soft, but at the same time, it was also kind of stiff and a little rough feeling where the crinkles were. The tee fits fairly true-to-size, but I think the sleeves are a little bit more fitted than some of J.Crew's other tees. The tee is also on the longer side, which I like, but I think tee length preference varies from person to person.
I thought this tee was okay, but I left it behind because of its sheerness and the stiff crinkles. If J.Crew had put this same exact pattern out in a heavier knit and a smooth texture allover, I would have been really tempted by this one (and in the shell color as well)!
What do you think? Do you like this tee? Which colors do you like? What are your feelings on tie-dye?

So sheer! Sheesh! Very cute though, but I can't do horizontal stripes! lol
i tried this on in navy (i guess it's a store-only color?) and was on the fence too. pretty cute--it actually exceeded my expectations--but enough with the sheerness! I tried it on in an xs but would size up to a small or med. to help with the sheer-factor.
(here is the link to my pics, if you want to see the diff. color)
I bought the navy one but am still on the fence - in my case, it's not as sheer as AppGal's but reading your and her reviews, I'm leaning towards taking it back. :(
Btw, saw a grey-ish, or is it stone, color resette tee today in the store today.
Krista Alana - Yes, way too sheer for me, too!
AppGal - I really liked it on you in the navy - it was a really nice combination! Sizing up is a good tip, and thanks for sharing the pics!
jjc - For me, I would just judge if I'm comfortable in it! If you like it, you should keep it :)
And to all - it is on sale now if you were considering it!!
